The Grey

Very well executed ‘Man vs Nature’ film bolstered by believable performances all around. Liam Neeson, as usual, gives the role of Otway a hefty dose of gravity and conviction, not to mention an underlying current of effective sadness. And considering that the director’s previous film was the hyper-kinetic and flawed The A-Team, this one is surprisingly introspective and mature in it’s style and pacing. The villainous wolves are handled well, often shown fleetingly, just as the survivors would’ve seen them. Pretty damn menacing too. All around, this is a very impressive movie. Want something smart, tense and quite suspenseful? Check this one out. March 11 at 4:09pm
