Boardwalk Empire (2013)

Boardwalk Empire Season 4, Episode 12: ‘Farewell Daddy Blues’ was a powerful and well-constructed season ‘closer’, with the near-operatic death of one particular character actually making me pause to see if that was ACTUALLY a feeling of ‘choked up’ that I was maybe kinda sorta feeling (it was). HBO knows their shit and I highly recommend this series to…well…everyone. Everyone except the squeamish. The acting is top-notch, the cast is great, the production design is lavish and detailed, the story is a cool blend of historical fact and well-pondered artistic license, and, of course, there’s boobs n blood. It’s a ‘win win’! but seriously…this was a helluva way to end Season 4…and I can’t wait to see what goes down in Season 5. Give em hell, ‘Nucky’ Thompson!!
